2000 Water: WET Photography, Ira Kahn As a gathering and meeting place for pedestrians, the project’s fountain, within the central court, is intended to create a focal point for the development. The fountain’s base and pool are clad with a mosaic pattern of Tessera tile. The form is a quatrefoil, raised to a bench height that includes both a central pool and smaller, shallow water basins located within the surrounding seat bench. Clear, laminar arcs of water emit from the indentations, while a cluster of water pulses vertically from within the pool. The fountain is choreographed, resulting in a variety of kinetic patterns as the laminar streams and vertical jets interact.
